Come and join our vibrant Youth community theatre group in the heart of Exeter.

At ELTC we foster and celebrate our young talented performers. During our weekly classes students will have the opportunity to develop and explore a variety of performance skills. They will engage in interactive theatre games, improvisation exercises, devising, script exploration, directing, writing, leadership skills and the fundamentals of collaborating creatively as a team. Our aim is for students to build their confidence and allow their performance skills to thrive amongst a welcoming supportive atmosphere within our theatre community. Our youth group members have the opportunity to audition to be cast and perform in our main stage productions and end of year show/pantomime. They are an integral part of the ELTC family and are nurtured to build lifelong connections within the society.

Mai-Lin Hagiwara is a freelance theatre practitioner and movement director/choreographer. Originally trained in Australia, as a Young Actor from the National Institute of Dramatic Art and studied vocals at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Mai-lin furthered her studies in a Bachelor in Creative Industries from QUT and graduate diploma in senior education. Since graduating Mai-lin has had years of experience as a practitioner leading programmes at various educational settings including performing arts schools, mainstream education and talent agencies. Since moving to Devon Mai-lin has worked on a variety of theatre and dance projects within the community showcasing work at Northcott Theatre, Barnfield Theatre and Theatre Royal Plymouth.

Mai-Lin is passionate about fostering creativity and the arts amongst the Youth in the Exeter community.
